One of the Largest & Nicest Holistic Expos In PA, MD, NJ & DE!
Dear Friends,
Thank you for making our 2007 Expo the best ever! Well over 2000 people participated in our Expo over the two days this year and visited more than 80 vendors/exhibitors, as well as enjoyed great lectures and presentations from a quality select of holistic educators.
At this time, Bob and I have decided not to make the expo any larger in booth space. We are quite content with the size and we love the charming Old Main building at the Expo Center. It is about as big as the two of us can handle. It is the perfect home for us and the Fairgrounds staff is wonderful to work with. We will just focus on getting more guest to come and making it better and better and better! Quantity isn't always quality.
The energy was wonderful! It was like "Heaven on Earth!" The comments from so many people were very positive and affirming. We plan all year long to make this event as elegant and wonderful as possible, and our work certainly paid off!
It starts for us actually on Thursday, where we spend the entire day packing the store. Bob is great at choosing just the right things to take. Then early Friday morning we go in to Old Main to make sure all is well with table placement, technical stuff, and the like. Then we begin to create the New Visions Booth and the Hospitality tent. By the time the vendors come in, we have most of our set up complete and we can help direct and assist the vendors in their set up. It is amazing to see how it all goes up on Friday. As people prepare their booth spaces, the energy begins to build.
This year the Friday Night COL Wine & Cheese Reception at the store was the best ever! It was very well attended and people got to meet each other, vendor, guests and customers alike. The food was great, the wine was tasty, and happiness filled the air!
On Saturday we go in at 7am as the vendors arrive to continue to tweak and set up their booths. This year we had a few moments of silence before we began to shift the energy and we honored the passing of Helen Solarz of Windhorse, who passed in July. She was one of our long time vendors.
Then it all began! We let people in a bit early. Christopher Quigley opened with a few beautiful songs that brought tears to some people's eyes. We enjoyed a steady flow of people all day long. The crowd was bigger this year. There were so many new faces! And so many familiar faces. And yet, there were so many other faces we haven't seen in a long time. All of the lectures were well attended. Duane Hanningan and Julie Swope did an excellent job keeping us entertained with music. The registration table girls were efficiently doing their job flawlessly. I watched people lounging in the Hospitality Tent eating "food" (sorry) and chatting amongst themselves. It was perfect! Smiles everywhere! I spent the whole day watching this amazing process...people were getting readings, shopping, getting healing treatments, eating at the beautiful Hospitality tent, walking the labyrinth. I walked around in amazement, asking myself "How did we do this? Thank You God!" At some points through the day the aisles got a little clogged. At the end of the day, no one wanted to leave.
The next day opened with the keynote speakers Tom & Katie Hirt. Their talk was absolutely stunning on "The Angels, The Secret and the Law of Attraction." These wonderful people are amazing! We will have a DVD on the talk available in the near future.
Sunday started a little slow, as usual, but by the afternoon, things picked up and we were as busy as we were on Saturday. A lot of people came back for a second day. Again, as I strolled around, the process was just so amazing! We were validated over and over again. Some times Bob and I were moved to tears. Again, at the end of the day, no one wanted to leave. Everything went without a hitch nor a glitch.
Tear down and pack up was wonderful, vendors helping vendors, guests staying to help vendors, everyone hugging and kissing everyone goodbye. Everyone left in a buzz. We are still buzzing.
We took everything back to the store and Bob stayed late putting some things away. I stayed at the fairgrounds until the very last vendor left, which was about 8pm. The nuns from Shambhala could not get everything into their van, so we (the tear down crew, Abe, Julie, David, Rick), took some of their things to their hotel, and then, as usual, I treated the teardown crew out for dinner and then off to Club XS to meet Chris and Darin to trip the life fantastic and celebrate into the night!
Thanks to our wonderful staff assistants David Pillette & Casey Brown help us run the New Visions booth.
Thanks to Connie Robbins, Pat Learned, Debbie Beard, Sharon Bibb, and Bernadette Boulden. We NEVER worry about the registration table. They are all Goddesses!
Thanks to Christopher Quigley, Duane Hannigan and Julie Swope who kept us entertained with wonderful music.
Thanks to Christopher Quigley and Jesse Speicher for the beautiful Hospitality Tent.
Special Thanks to Julianna Ciebiera and Abe Simmons for EVERYTHING they did. They were there for us for EVERYTHING!
Thanks to David Arnold, Rick Fitzgerald and David Pillette who helped with tear down.
Thanks to Barry Dennis who recorded the keynote lecture.
Thanks to Tom & Katie Hirt for their great presentation. You guys are best!
Thanks to our presenters Barry Helm, Suesie Hartman, Sharon Marquart, Ani Patty, Dr. Keith Sheehan, Chris Bohn, Narayan, Dr. Pam Howard, Ann Kelly and Cathy Harner.
Thanks to all of our vendors & exhibitors. We hope to see you again next year.
Thank You to the York Fair & Expo Center. We love our home.
And last but certainly not least, we thank our guests. It is for you that we do this because we love you. And we are grateful for your support and patronage.
